Topamax® (topiramate) is a medication that can be prescribed to treat epilepsy and prevent migraines. It works by slowing down electrical signals and calming nerve cells in the brain, which can help prevent seizures and migraine headaches from occurring. Topamax tablets are available in four different strengths, and the "sprinkle" capsules come in two strengths. Before using this drug, it is important to talk to your healthcare provider if you have severe diarrhea, glaucoma, or kidney stones.
