Topamax Reactions

As with any medication, side effects are possible with Topamax® (topiramate). In clinical studies, some of the most commonly reported Topamax reactions included weight loss, mental and physical slowing or delays, coordination problems, and upper respiratory tract infections.

Difficulty breathing, vision problems, chest pain, and kidney stones are potentially serious problems that should be reported to your healthcare provider. It is also possible to develop allergic reactions to Topamax; signs of an allergic reaction may include hives, itching, unexplained rash, and wheezing.

Because some people may be more likely to react negatively to Topamax, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of all medicine you are taking and all medical conditions you have before beginning treatment.
