Not everyone who takes Tegretol® (carbamazepine) will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects occur, they are typically minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated. Common side effects of the drug can include dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea.
Other side effects are more serious and should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately. These can include hallucinations, signs of an allergic reaction, and unusual bleeding or bruising. Tegretol has also been reported to interfere with some pregnancy tests.
