Combining alcohol with primidone can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. It is best to avoid alcohol while taking primidone.

Combining anesthetics with primidone can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure your healthcare providers know you are taking primidone before you undergo any surgical procedure.
 
Antidepressant Medications
Combining an antidepressant with primidone can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure to talk to your healthcare provider before taking primidone with an antidepressant, as you may need to be monitored more closely.
 
Barbiturates
Combining a barbiturate with primidone can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Make sure to talk to your healthcare provider before taking primidone with a barbiturate.
 
Benzodiazepines

Certain Antifungal Medications
Taking certain antifungal medications with primidone can decrease the level of the antifungal medication in your blood, perhaps making it less effective. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
