gabapentin) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of
epilepsy and chronic nerve pain that commonly occurs after an outbreak of
shingles. Specifically, it is approved to treat partial
seizures in adults and children as young as three years old with epilepsy.
There are several different forms and strengths available for this drug: capsules (which come in three strengths), tablets (which come in two strengths), and an oral solution (only available in one strength). The medicine is taken by mouth, typically one to three times a day. You can take Neurontin either with food or on an empty stomach. It is important to take the drug at the same time(s) each day to maintain an even level of Neurontin in your blood.
