Neurontin 100 mg Capsules

Neurontin® (gabapentin) is approved for treating epilepsy and postherpetic neuralgia. It comes in various forms and strengths, including:

  • 100 mg Neurontin capsules
  • 300 mg Neurontin capsules
  • 400 mg Neurontin capsules
  • 600 mg Neurontin tablets
  • 800 mg Neurontin tablets
  • Neurontin oral solution 250 mg per 5 mL (equivalent to 250 mg per teaspoonful).

The recommended starting Neurontin dosage for controlling partial seizures in adults and adolescents over 12 years old is 300 mg three times daily. For children ages 3 to 12 years old, your child's healthcare provider will calculate the correct dosage based on your child's weight. Younger children typically start with lower strengths (such as 100 mg). Your child's healthcare provider may increase this dose as necessary for seizure control.

When treating postherpetic neuralgia (chronic nerve pain following an episode of shingles), the recommended starting Neurontin dose is 300 mg taken once on the first day, 300 mg taken twice daily on the second day, and 300 mg taken three times daily on the third day.
