Neurontin® is often prescribed in cases of postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain after a shingles infection) and partial seizures in people with epilepsy. While it's not entirely clear how the drug works, it is believed to affect calcium channels in the brain. Neurontin is available in capsule, tablet, and liquid form. Possible side effects include problems with coordination, dizziness, or drowsiness.
