Drug Interactions

Unlike most other seizure medications, Keppra XR is unlikely to interact with most medications (see Keppra XR Drug Interactions).
 

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider Before Taking Keppra XR?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking Keppra XR if you have:
 
  • Anemia or any other blood disorder
  • Kidney disease, including kidney failure (renal failure)
  • Any allergies, including allergies to food, dyes, or preservatives.
     
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
 
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

What If I Take an Overdose?

People who take too much Keppra XR may have overdose symptoms that could include:
 
  • Drowsiness
  • Agitation
  • Aggression
  • Unconsciousness
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Coma.
