Epilepsy Home > Felbatol Uses

How Does Felbatol Work?

It is not known exactly how Felbatol works to prevent seizures. It is thought to work in a similar way as other common seizure medications.

Can Children Use It?

Felbatol can be used to treat seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in children who are 2 to 14 years old. It is also approved to treat partial seizures in children 14 years old and older. However, Felbatol has only been adequately studied in children with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. Talk to your healthcare provider about the risks and benefits of using this medication in children.

Off-Label Felbatol Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this product for something other than the conditions discussed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, there are no universally accepted off-label Felbatol uses.
