Problems With Lyrica

Just like many other medications, Lyrica® (pregabalin) can cause side effects. Some of the most common Lyrica problems include:

  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Coordination problems
  • Weight gain
  • Infections
  • Headaches.

If side effects do occur, they are often mild and either easily treated or require no treatment. However, there are some potentially serious problems with Lyrica that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience difficulty breathing, unusual bruising or bleeding, or unexplained swelling.

Other safety concerns with Lyrica apply to people who have certain allergies (including allergies to foods, dyes, or preservatives), as well as women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Also, you may not be able to take this drug if you have certain medical conditions, such as kidney disease, heart disease, or a bleeding disorder.
