Although many people do not experience any problems while taking
Lyrica® (
pregabalin), this medication is not free of side effects. Some of the most common risks with Lyrica include:
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Coordination problems
- Weight gain.
If problems do occur, they tend to be mild and either require no treatment or are easily treated. However, there are some potentially serious Lyrica risks that require immediate medical attention. Contact your healthcare provider right away if you experience serious problems such as difficulty breathing, unusual bruising or bleeding, or any vision changes.
Other warnings and precautions with Lyrica apply to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as people who have certain
allergies (including allergies to foods, dyes, or preservatives). Also, you may not be able to take this drug if you have certain medical conditions, such as
heart disease, kidney disease, or a history of drug or alcohol abuse.
