Lamictal® is a drug that is used to treat bipolar disorder and epilepsy. The drug is made by GlaxoSmithKline and is available in a number of strengths. While it is unknown how Lamictal works to treat bipolar disorder, some believe that it helps control epilepsy by affecting sodium channels in the brain. The drug is available in tablet or "chewable dispersible" form and is taken by mouth, usually once or twice a day.
