Lamictal® (lamotrigine) is a medication commonly prescribed for the treatment of bipolar disorder and various types of epileptic seizures. Studies suggest that it may work by affecting sodium channels in the brain, but it is not known exactly how the drug works.
 
Regular Lamictal tablets and orally disintegrating tablets come in four different strengths, while the "chewable dispersible" tablets come in three strengths. Before using this medication, make sure your healthcare provider knows if you have heart, kidney, or liver disease.
