Who Should Not Take Depakote ER?
You should not take Depakote ER if you:
- Are allergic to Depakote ER, divalproex sodium, or any inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
- Have liver disease.
- Have a urea cycle disorder (see above).
There are a number of situations in which Depakote ER should not be taken, as well as certain precautions and warnings people should be aware of before starting the medication.
