People who suffer from certain types of epileptic seizures or trigeminal neuralgia may benefit from Carbatrol® (carbamazepine). This prescription medication is thought to control seizures and relieve pain associated with trigeminal neuralgia by blocking sodium channels in the brain, as well as certain nerve signals that cause pain. The dose of Carbatrol that your healthcare provider prescribes will vary, depending on your age, the medical condition being treated, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you may be taking.
